• One oven heats, the other does not. Usually a failed bake or broil element, igniter, relay on the control board or a temperature sensor on that cavity.
• Neither oven works. A tripped breaker, blown thermal fuse, failed control board or power supply problem.
• Door locked after self-clean. A faulty door lock motor, lock switch or control board that did not release the lock.
• Temperature not accurate. A failing temperature sensor or calibration issue causing burnt or undercooked food.
• Error codes. Codes such as F2, F3, F9, E1 or "LOC" depending on the brand, pointing to sensor, lock or control faults.

Remember that wall ovens run on 240 volts. Do not remove panels or test components yourself unless you are trained to work safely with high voltage.

Self-clean cycles heat the oven to very high temperatures. That heat can burn out thermal fuses, damage control boards and cause door locks to stick, which is why many double oven calls come right before holidays after a self-clean cycle. Wipe spills regularly, use shorter self-clean cycles when available, and do not run self-clean right before hosting a big meal.

Convection ovens circulate hot air with a fan for faster, more even cooking. When the convection fan motor or convection element fails, the oven may still bake in regular mode but cook unevenly or slowly in convection mode. Noisy fans usually mean worn bearings. Why is my oven door locked and will not open?

After self-clean the door stays locked until the oven cools. If it stays locked when cool, the lock motor, switch or control board has likely failed.
