If you smell gas, do not try to light the fireplace or operate any switches. Leave the home and call your gas utility or 911 from outside. Carbon monoxide alarms should be installed in any home with a gas fireplace and tested regularly.

Each type has different safety components and service needs, so our technician confirms the type and model before recommending parts. Using the wrong replacement logs or parts can change the flame and increase carbon monoxide production.

In Florida, a fireplace may sit idle from March until December. During that time spiders and insects build nests in pilot tubes and burner ports, batteries in remotes and receivers run down, and humidity corrodes small electrical connections. The result is a pilot that will not light or a burner that will not ignite on the first cold evening. Yes. We test the remote and receiver, replace batteries, re-pair them and replace a failed receiver if needed.

Do you repair electric fireplaces?

Is it safe to use my fireplace if the glass is cracked?

No. Cracked glass can allow combustion gases into the room. Keep the fireplace off until the glass is replaced.

How often should a gas fireplace be serviced?

Can you convert a wood-burning fireplace to gas?

Gas log sets and inserts can often be added to an existing fireplace. The chimney, gas supply and venting must be evaluated first, and we can advise on the options.

What should I do if my carbon monoxide alarm sounds while the fireplace is on?

Turn the fireplace off, get everyone outside into fresh air and call 911 or your gas utility. Do not use the fireplace again until it has been inspected and the cause has been corrected.
